Equipment

  • Blender – 1 (to blend the strawberries and water)
  • Fine Mesh Strainer – 1 (optional, for straining)
  • Pitcher – 1 (to store and serve the agua fresca)
  • Knife – 1 (to hull and cut the strawberries)
  • Juicer – 1 (for lime juice, optional if you don’t have one)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450g Fresh Strawberries (washed and hulled)
  • 4 cups 960ml Water (still or sparkling, based on preference)
  • 2 tbsp 30ml Fresh Lime Juice (about 1-2 limes)
  • ¼ to ½ cup 60-120g Sweetener (sugar, honey, or agave syrup; adjust to taste)
  • Ice Cubes – optional for serving
  • Fresh Mint – optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and hull the strawberries.
Cut them into halves or quarters for easy blending.
  • Blend the Ingredients: Add the strawberries, water, lime juice, and sweetener to a blender.
Blend on high until smooth (about 30 seconds).
  • Strain the Mixture (Optional): If you prefer a smooth drink, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any pulp or seeds.
Skip this step if you like a thicker, more textured drink.
  • Serve: Pour the agua fresca into glasses filled with ice cubes.
Garnish with fresh mint or a lime wedge if desired.
  • Enjoy: Stir well and enjoy your refreshing Strawberry Agua Fresca immediately!

Notes

  • Adjusting Sweetness: Feel free to adjust the sweetness based on your preference. If you want a lower-calorie option, reduce the amount of sweetener or skip it altogether.
  • Flavor Variations: You can experiment with other fruits like watermelon, mango, or cucumber to create your own agua fresca flavor combinations.
  • Storage: If you have any leftovers, store the agua fresca in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Stir well before serving as the ingredients may settle.
  • Sparkling Option: For a fizzy version, substitute still water with sparkling water for added bubbles.
