  • 1 Fine mesh strainer (Optional, for straining)
  • 1 Knife (To cut pineapple)
  • 1 Cutting board (For cutting pineapple)
  • 1 Large pitcher or jug (To store agua fresca)
  • 1 measuring cup (for water)

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Pineapple about 4 cups of chunks
  • 4 cups Water or to taste
  • 1 Lime freshly squeezed juice
  • 2-3 tbsp Sweetener agave, honey, or sugar, to taste
  • 1-2 cups Ice optional, for serving
  • Optional Garnishes: Lime slices mint leaves, pineapple wedges

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pineapple: Peel and core the pineapple, cutting it into small chunks. Set aside.
  • Blend the Ingredients: Add the pineapple chunks, water, lime juice, and sweetener into a blender.
    Blend on high until smooth.
  • Strain (Optional): For a smoother texture, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, discarding any pulp.
If you prefer a more textured drink, skip this step.
  • Serve: Pour the agua fresca into glasses over ice.
Garnish with lime slices, mint leaves, or pineapple wedges, if desired.
  • Enjoy: Serve chilled and enjoy your refreshing Pineapple Agua Fresca!

Notes

  • Adjust Sweetness: Depending on the ripeness of your pineapple, you may need more or less sweetener. Always taste the mixture before adding more sugar or honey.
  • Substitutes: If you prefer a creamier version, you can swap some of the water for coconut water, adding a subtle tropical flavor.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Give it a good stir before serving, as the ingredients may naturally separate.
  • For an Alcoholic Version: Add a splash of rum or tequila for a fun twist on this refreshing beverage.
