Equipment

  • Blender or Food Processor – 1
  • Shallow Freezer-safe Container (1)
  • Ice Cream Maker (optional)

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe peaches fresh, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • ½ cup granulated sugar or sweetener of choice, adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup water or fruit juice optional, for a smoother texture

Instructions

  • Prepare the Peaches:
  • Peel the peaches, remove the pits, and chop them into smaller pieces.
  • Blend the Ingredients:
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and water or fruit juice (if using). Blend until smooth and creamy.
Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed.
  • Chill the Mixture:
  • Transfer the peach mixture into a bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least one hour to chill.
  • Freeze the Sorbet:
  • If using an ice cream maker, pour the chilled mixture into the machine and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • If making the sorbet without an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow container and freeze.
Every 30 minutes, stir with a fork to break up ice crystals. Continue for 2-3 hours until the sorbet reaches a smooth, icy texture.
  • Serve:
  • Once ready, scoop the peach sorbet into bowls or glasses. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for later.

Notes

  • Sweetener Variations: You can replace sugar with honey, maple syrup, or a sugar alternative to suit dietary preferences.
  • Texture Tip: If you don’t have an ice cream maker, be sure to stir the sorbet every 30 minutes while it freezes to achieve a smooth texture.
  • Storage: Store the sorbet in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Allow it to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping if it becomes too hard.
  • Flavor Variations: Try adding other fruits like berries or mangoes to customize the flavor, or infuse it with fresh mint or basil for an extra touch of flavor.
