Ingredients
2cupsabout half of a medium papaya – Papaya, peeled and chopped
4cups– Cold water
1–2 tablespoons – Sugaradjust to taste
1tablespoon– Fresh lime juice
Ice cubes – As neededfor serving (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Papaya: Peel and chop the papaya into small chunks.
Blend the Ingredients: Add the chopped papaya and 4 cups of cold water into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Sweeten and Add Lime: Add 1–2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 tablespoon of lime juice to the blender. Blend again until fully combined. Taste and adjust sweetness or lime juice as needed.
Strain (Optional): If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve to remove the pulp. This step is optional.
Serve: Pour the Papaya Agua Fresca into glasses over ice cubes for a refreshing, chilled drink. Garnish with a lime wedge or papaya slice if desired.
Notes
Sweetness Variations: Adjust the sugar based on the ripeness of your papaya. If the papaya is very sweet, you may need less sugar.
Herbal Twist: For an added twist, blend in a few fresh mint or basil leaves to complement the papaya’s natural sweetness.
