Equipment

  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 Spoon for mixing
  • 1 knife (for chopping ingredients)
  • 1 garlic press (optional, for mincing garlic)
  • 1 Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1-2 Jalapeño peppers seeds removed and finely chopped (adjust to spice preference)
  • ½ tsp Salt or to taste
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper or to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the garlic: Mince the garlic finely or use a garlic press for a smoother texture.
  • Combine the ingredients: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, lime juice, and minced garlic until smooth.
  • Add cilantro and chili: Chop the cilantro and finely chop your jalapeño peppers.
Stir them into the mayo mixture.
  • Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, and mix everything together until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust: Taste the dip and adjust seasoning as necessary, adding more lime juice or salt for extra flavor.
  • Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and enjoy with tacos, grilled meats, chips, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Adjust spiciness: You can control the heat level by adjusting the number of jalapeños or opting for a milder chili like poblano if you prefer less spice.
  • Greek yogurt substitute: If you prefer a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise, though the dip will have a tangier flavor and lighter texture.
  • Make it ahead: The dip can be prepared a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Customize: Feel free to add extra herbs like basil or mint if cilantro isn’t your favorite, or try roasted garlic for a milder garlic flavor.
