Equipment

  • Blender: 1 medium size, to blend the mangoes and water together
  • Knife: 1, for cutting the mangoes
  • Cutting board: 1, for chopping the mangoes
  • Measuring cup: 1, to measure the water and sweetener
  • Serving glasses: 4-6, to serve the drink
  • Lime squeezer (optional): 1, to easily squeeze the lime juice

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large ripe mangoes peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 3 cups chilled water
  • 2-3 tablespoons sweetener such as sugar, agave syrup, or honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Ice optional, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Mangoes: Peel, pit, and chop the mangoes into small cubes.
  • Blend the Mangoes: Add the mango cubes to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Combine with Water and Sweetener: Add 3 cups of chilled water to the mango puree. Blend again until well mixed.
    Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sweetener if needed.
  • Add Lime Juice: Squeeze the juice of 1 lime into the mixture, then blend for a few more seconds.
  • Serve: Pour the Mango Agua Fresca into glasses filled with ice.
    Garnish with lime wedges or mint leaves if desired.
  • Enjoy: Refresh yourself with this naturally sweet, hydrating beverage!

Notes

  • Sweetener Variations: Feel free to adjust the sweetness based on your preference. You can also use natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit for a low-calorie version.
  • Frozen Mango Option: If fresh mangoes are not available, you can use frozen mango for a thicker texture or to create a slushy version.
  • Add Spice: For an extra kick, sprinkle some chili powder or Tajín on top for a spicy, tangy twist.
