Equipment

  • Pitcher (1, large) – For mixing and serving the drink
  • Juicer (1) – For extracting lemon juice
  • Stirring Spoon (1) – For mixing the ingredients
  • Measuring Cup (1) – For water and sugar measurement
  • Ice Cube Tray (optional, 1) – For freezing extra lemonade, if desired

Ingredients

  • 4 Lemons fresh – For freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 cups Water – To dilute the lemon juice and create the base
  • 1/4 cup Sugar or sweetener of choice – To sweeten the lemonade
  • Ice cubes optional – For chilling the drink
  • Mint leaves lemon slices (optional) – For garnish and extra flavor

Instructions

  • Prepare the Lemons: Wash the lemons thoroughly. Roll them on a flat surface to release more juice.
Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice into a large pitcher, making sure to remove any seeds.
  • Sweeten the Lemonade: Add the sugar (or sweetener of choice) to the lemon juice. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
You can adjust the sweetness based on your preference.
  • Add Water: Pour in the 4 cups of water and stir well to combine with the lemon juice mixture.
Taste and adjust if needed (add more lemon for tartness or water for a milder flavor).
  • Chill the Drink: Add ice cubes to the pitcher or place it in the fridge to chill for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve: Pour the Lemonade Agua Fresca into glasses filled with ice.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves or lemon slices for a decorative touch.
    Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes

  • Sweetener Options: If you're looking for a lower-calorie version, try using stevia, agave syrup, or honey in place of regular sugar.
  • Flavor Variations: Add a handful of fresh berries, cucumber slices, or mint for a twist on the classic recipe. These flavors will complement the lemon perfectly.
  • Make Ahead: You can make the Lemonade Agua Fresca in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Just remember to stir before serving, as ingredients may separate over time.
  • Garnish Ideas: Garnishing with lemon slices or fresh herbs adds a lovely aesthetic to the drink and enhances its flavor.
  • Serving Suggestions: This is a perfect drink for hot summer days, picnics, or alongside a light meal like salads, grilled fish, or tacos.
