Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Asparagus fresh, about 15-20 spears
  • 10-12 slices Bacon thick-cut
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for drizzling
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp Garlic Powder for extra flavor
  • Optional: 1 tbsp Parmesan Cheese for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare the asparagus: Trim off the woody ends of the asparagus by snapping each spear at its natural breaking point.
    Rinse the asparagus and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Wrap in bacon: Take a slice of bacon and wrap it tightly around each asparagus spear, starting from one end and covering most of the length.
    Repeat with the remaining asparagus.
  • Season: Drizzle the bacon-wrapped asparagus with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and any optional garlic powder.
  • Arrange on the baking sheet: Place the wrapped asparagus in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each spear for even cooking.
  • Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender. If you want extra crispiness, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve: Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, and serve immediately. Optionally, garnish with Parmesan cheese for added flavor.

Notes

  • Crispier bacon: For extra crispy bacon, broil the dish for 1-2 minutes at the end of the cooking time. Keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.
  • Bacon choice: Thick-cut bacon works best for this recipe, as it crisps up better and holds its shape around the asparagus.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) to restore the bacon's crispiness.
