Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe guavas
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • Pinch of salt optional
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Fresh lime juice optional, for extra zest

Instructions
 

Prepare the Guavas:

  • Wash the guavas thoroughly. Cut them into halves or quarters and remove the seeds.

Blend the Guavas:

  • Place the guava pieces in a blender along with 2 cups of cold water. Blend until smooth.

Strain the Puree:

  • Pour the guava puree through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher, removing any pulp.

Add Remaining Water:

  • Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well to combine.

Sweeten to Taste:

  • Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of sugar, adjusting the sweetness to your preference.
    You can also add a pinch of salt for enhanced flavor.

Chill:

  • Refrigerate the agua fresca for at least 30 minutes to chill.

Serve:

  • Serve the Guava Agua Fresca over ice in glasses.
    Optionally, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Fresh Guavas: The best flavor comes from fresh, ripe guavas. If you can't find fresh guavas, frozen guavas can be used as an alternative.
  • Sweetener Options: You can adjust the sweetness based on your preference, or try alternatives like honey, agave syrup, or stevia for a different twist.
  • Flavor Variations: For a zesty kick, add lime juice or even a few mint leaves for a refreshing twist.
