Equipment

  • Food Processor (1) – for smooth blending.
  • Mixing Bowl (1) – for mixing by hand, if not using a food processor.
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons (1 set) – for accurate measurements of ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Feta Cheese 8 oz – crumbled or block (then crumbled).
  • Greek Yogurt 1 cup – plain, full-fat.
  • Olive Oil 2 tbsp – extra virgin.
  • Lemon Juice 1 tbsp – fresh.
  • Garlic 1 clove – minced or garlic paste.
  • Fresh Oregano 1 tsp – chopped.
  • Fresh Parsley 1 tbsp – chopped.
  • Salt 1/2 tsp – to taste.
  • Black Pepper 1/4 tsp – to taste.

Instructions

  • Prepare the feta cheese: Crumble the feta cheese into a mixing bowl if using a block of feta.
If using pre-crumbled feta, simply measure the amount required.
  • Mix the base ingredients: In a food processor, combine the crumbled feta cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and lemon juice.
Blend until smooth and creamy, or mix by hand for a chunkier texture.
  • Add garlic and herbs: Mince the garlic finely and add it to the feta-yogurt mixture. Stir in fresh oregano and parsley.
  • Season: Taste the dip and add salt and pepper to suit your preference. Blend again if necessary.
  • Adjust consistency: If the dip is too thick, add a little more olive oil or Greek yogurt to adjust the consistency to your liking.
  • Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve immediately with pita chips, veggies, or toasted bread.
Alternatively, refrigerate it for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Greek Feta Dip can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The flavors will develop even more as it sits.
  • Consistency: Adjust the thickness of the dip by adding more olive oil or yogurt if necessary. You can also make it chunkier or smoother depending on your preference.
  • Add-Ins: For extra flavor, try adding chopped Kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, or a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Vegetarian Option: This dip is vegetarian-friendly as it contains no meat or animal products besides the feta cheese.
