Equipment

  • Air Fryer – 1 unit
  • Small bowl – 1 unit (for seasoning)
  • Knife – 1 unit (for slicing feta, if needed)
  • Cutting Board: 1 unit
  • Paper towels – 1 roll (for drying feta)

Ingredients

  • 1 block 200g Feta cheese (high-quality, preferably sheep's milk feta)
  • 2 tbsp 30 mL Olive oil
  • 1 tsp 1 g Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp 1 g Dried thyme
  • 2 cloves Garlic finely minced, optional
  • 1/2 cup 75 g Cherry tomatoes (optional, halved)
  • 1/4 cup 30 g Kalamata olives (optional, pitted and sliced)
  • 1 tsp 5 mL Honey (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Feta: Drain the feta block from any brine and pat dry with paper towels.
This will help it crisp up nicely in the air fryer.
  • Season the Feta: Drizzle the feta with olive oil, then sprinkle with oregano and thyme. If you're using garlic, rub it into the feta for an extra layer of flavor.
Add a drizzle of honey for a touch of sweetness, if desired.
  • Optional Add-ins: If you're adding cherry tomatoes and Kalamata olives, scatter them around the feta in the air fryer basket.
These will soften and create a juicy, flavorful sauce as the feta cooks.
  • Air Fry the Feta: Place the seasoned feta in the air fryer basket and set the temperature to 375°F (190°C).
Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the feta is golden brown on the outside and creamy on the inside.
  • Serve: Remove the feta from the air fryer and serve immediately with fresh pita, a Greek salad, or as a topping for roasted vegetables.
    Enjoy the creamy, tangy goodness!

Notes

  • Quality of Feta: The quality of the feta you choose will significantly impact the flavor. Opt for a good quality, traditional sheep’s milk feta for the best results.
  • Air Fryer Variations: Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the brand and size of your air fryer, so start checking at the 8-minute mark to prevent overcooking.
  • Customization: Feel free to customize the seasonings and toppings. You can add chili flakes for some heat, or fresh herbs like basil or parsley for a more vibrant touch.
  • Serving Suggestions: This dish is excellent when served with pita bread, as a topping for a Greek salad, or as part of a mezze platter with hummus and olives.
