Equipment

  • 1 loaf pan (9x5 inches)
  • 1 Mixing Bowl (Large)
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 Silicone spatula
  • 1 Cheese Grater
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 Toothpick (for testing doneness)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 ½ cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk or non-dairy alternative like almond milk
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, olive oil (or melted butter), and apple cider vinegar.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
The mixture should be thick but smooth.
  • Add cheese: Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese to ensure it’s evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Transfer to pan: Pour the dough into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Flour Blend: Be sure to use a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend that includes xanthan gum to help with the texture of the bread.
  • Cheese Options: Feel free to substitute cheddar with any cheese you like, such as mozzarella, gouda, or a mix of cheeses for a different flavor.
  • Storage: Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage (up to 2 months).
  • Reheating: You can toast slices or warm the loaf in the oven for a few minutes to bring back its fresh-baked texture.
