1/2tsp– Garlic Powder
1/2tsp– Onion Powder
1/2tsp– Paprika
1/4tsp– Salt
1/4cup– Breadcrumbsoptional, for coating
Instructions
Prepare the Jalapeños: Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. Set them aside.
Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
Stuff the Jalapeños: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, pressing the filling in gently.
Optional – Add Breadcrumbs: If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the stuffed jalapeños for extra crunch.
Air Fry the Poppers: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the stuffed jalapeños in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
Serve: Remove the poppers from the air fryer, allow them to cool for a minute, and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
Adjusting Spice Level: To make the poppers milder, remove all seeds and membranes from the jalapeños. Alternatively, you can use milder peppers such as banana peppers.
Making Ahead: Stuff the jalapeños in advance and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before cooking. This can save time if preparing for a party or gathering.
Freezing Option: You can freeze the stuffed jalapeños before cooking. Lay them flat on a baking sheet until frozen, then store in an airtight container. To cook, air fry directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
Cheese Variations: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like Monterey Jack or pepper jack to change the flavor profile of the filling.
Serving Suggestions: Serve the poppers with a side of ranch dressing, sour cream, or a spicy dipping sauce to balance the heat.
