Equipment

  • Air Fryer – 1 unit
  • Mixing bowl – 1 medium-sized
  • Tongs or spatula – 1 unit (for flipping the wings)
  • Meat thermometer – 1 unit (for checking the internal temperature)
  • Basting brush (optional) – 1 unit

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings – 2 pounds about 10-12 wings
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Greek yogurt – ½ cup unsweetened, full-fat
  • Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed
  • Garlic – 3 cloves minced
  • Dried oregano – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Wings

  • Clean and pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels to remove excess moisture. If they are whole wings, separate them into drumettes and wingettes.

Make the Greek Marinade

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well-mixed.

Marinate the Wings

  • Coat the chicken wings thoroughly in the marinade. For best results, let the wings marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for more flavor.

Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.

Air Fry the Wings

  • Place the marinated wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren't overcrowded. Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through for even crispiness.

Check for Doneness

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the wings have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). The wings should be golden and crispy.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon and serve with tzatziki sauce, a Greek salad, or your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Extra Crispy Wings: For extra crispy skin, lightly brush the wings with additional olive oil before air frying, or spray them with cooking spray.
  • Adjusting Marinade: Feel free to tweak the marinade by adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for spice or a dash of honey for a touch of sweetness.
  • Air Fryer Size: Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook the wings in batches to ensure they cook evenly.
  • Storing Leftovers: Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat them in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore their crispiness.
